Yesterday both Lula and Frank had 40C of fever and we had to get antibiotics:( There was crying and vomitting and all sorts of other unpleasant tonsillitis related happenings:) Today I have fever too….. Oh dear. Still it did not stop us from getting very excited about the presents from babcia i dziadek:) Gorgeous dresses for Lula and a summer outfit for Frank! Perfect as it is so hot here! And books:) And Popeye the cat arrived too! He got big hugs from Frank!

Frank’s first cake

I have made Frank’s birthday cake:) It is very exciting. It should have been a banana one as the theme is Curious George, but Franek was not too keen. So vanilla and strawberry it is. The weather for tomorrow looks great sunny and 27 C so it looks (fingers crossed) like a perfect day for a birthday picnic:)

Life goes on

There are some very sad things happening back home. I am not at liberty to discuss it publicly yet I guess. But let’s just say I am really worried about my family. 🙁 It’s really stressful and I hope it works out for my loved ones.

Still the kids here are happy and love each other very much and are blissfully unaware of the ordeal.

On another note Frank has caught a chesty cough and flu from his friend I hope he is fine for his birthday party on Sunday!

Oh and Lula lost her 4th tooth (first upper left) and the tooth fairy came last night to give her £1

My dear Warwick gave me a morning of today:) So I had a nice lay in and around 9.30am I went down the stairs with Frank to find a package from Polkowska. Frank got some lovely things and so did Lula. Thank you very much:) His birthday is approaching very fast! Fingers crossed it will be a nice day on Sunday and we can go ahead with the picnic!

Less then 2 weeks left and Franek will be 1! He already got a lovely wagon and is practicing walking with it! And today he got a Duplo plane from Waszulka and family – thank you!;)

Back home:)

We are back home! We drove back on Friday and had a lovely stop in Bristol. What a beautiful city. It was very British but at the same time reminded me of Scandinavian countries, Spain and France. It had a strange fantastic mix. SO wanting to go back;) On Saturday we went to Hyde Park to celebrate Simon’s 50th and had a scorcher of a day with a picnic and plenty of cava;) Lula was in heaven with second cousin removed (God knows how you call them:) They are Warwick’s first cousins) Simon and Jeremy and Warwick and Scott and Ethan playing with her soft ball. With a stick and a radish;) Frank was just an angel as always! Mala and Simon took those great pics. I particularly like the one of Lula with the stick:)
On Sunday we went on our bicycles to the swimming pool. Lula had her level 3 lesson and then we all joined in when the pool opened at 11am. Frank had so much fun. And he actually rhythmically moved in the water like he was swimming. I think we should do this weekly!

We don’t want to go home!

We went to Penzance today:) We drove on the road to Zennor. Like a fairytale full of foxgloves and wild blossom. Horses, cows and baby rabbits. And those little stone cottages and ferns. So beautiful! All surrounded by the sea. When we got to the town we went for a stroll and decided we need to eat something. I had not done any research so I was not sure where to go. But immediately was disappointed by the feel of “high street” bingo and nasty pubs and old sad charity shops. With a large number of little independent shops closed down. After walking around for a while I saw a girl who looked like “my type” of a person and asked her where we could eat something nice and normal? She directed us to Archie Browns on Bread Street, which was well hidden at the back in between main Streets. A great health food shop with a veggie cafe upstairs. What a gem in the middle of horrid little grabby places. Sorry:( The food was so lovely! I am on a low carb diet but decided to chill out and had a goat cheese salad on roast veggies. I just said no to polenta:) Warwick had a falafel and Lula had a scrumptious baked potato with beans and cheese. She then proceeded to have a banana chocolate cake with ice cream. To share with daddy. (I am glad to report that she has been trying new foods! She went through a strange phase in the last year. So for those of you who think your all eating babies will stay this way. Think again;) Lula used to eat pretty much everything. Then she went to school and then it’s all with ketchup and preferably the pasta or the chips. And vegetables ok for cucumber or tomato… Either way it’s looking better again!) We then walked some more. I now discovered that Chapel Street apparently is nice… Still the drive home was lovely again and we did have a nice time:) Don’t waste time on Penzance when you are in this parts of the world;)
